We do this by providing a fun, friendly and casual environment where mamas connect with each other as well as the amazing resources and information in our community.

This includes a traditional Maori antenatal program, infant CPR, and everything you need to know when that baby finally arrives.

The real magic comes from our great facilitators who provide a program where you can relax and not feel judged or told what to do.

The Hapai Mama Team

Wai

Program Manager
Waikamania is our amazing Program Manager. Wai and her partner Wharera have three tamariki.
Hapai Mama is a result of her own journey into motherhood and her desire to learn about traditional Maori parenting. Wai also hunted down all the local services that she needed as a mother and brought it all together in this very special program.

Julie

Support Mama
Julie Edwards is a mother of 6 and with her husband Mike, has fostered over 40 other tamariki.
Julie and Mike have a hugely positive view of whanau, in every shape it takes, and want to see mamas capture a bright vision for their family. They started The Bright Vision Charitable Trust and together with Wai launched Hapai Mama in 2015.

Necia

Support Mama
Necia McBride is one of those special people that people just want to be around.
She is mother of 7 and is considered mum for many other teens that have come through her house. Necia shares a common passion for family and is a wealth of wisdom and positivity. Young Mamas love Necia’s input into their lives.
